Member Benefits
Active Member Death Benefits
The families of our active IUEC members are provided with a death benefit in the event that their loved one is killed on the job. The benefit is distributed through the IUEC’s death benefit fund, which is funded by a $5.00 quarterly assessment from each active member of the IUEC. The International delivers the assessment to the family of the deceased within one week of the member’s passing. Please note that the death benefit will only be paid if the deceased member was current with his/her dues and assessments prior to his/her death. The beneficiary is determined by the deceased member’s paperwork on file with the benefit fund’s office.
Canadian Elevator Industry Life & Health & Pension Plans
The Life and Health Trust Fund was established in 1952 and the Pension Plan was established on October 1, 1962. Since then due to the sound financial condition of the Trust Funds the Trustees have been able to extend and improve the benefits under both Plans from time to time.
