IUEC Local 59 (Harrisburg, PA) members are performing elevator and escalator installation work on major construction projects throughout the Penn State community.
At Beaver Stadium, Local 59 members are contributing to a $700 million renovation that includes new luxury suites, expanded concourses, and upgraded vertical transportation systems, including elevators and escalators designed to improve circulation and accessibility throughout the facility.
Local 59 members are also supporting construction of a 10-story patient tower at Mount Nittany Medical Center. This work takes place in an active healthcare environment and requires careful sequencing, safety compliance, and coordination with multiple trades to support ongoing operations within the facility.
Across both projects, Local 59 foremen and superintendents oversee field operations while members complete installation work, technical training, and system integration in accordance with project specifications and general contractor requirements.
The work completed at Penn State reflects the training and capability of IUEC members and the role of skilled elevator constructors in delivering critical infrastructure in institutional and public environments.
